How we use cookies and similar technologies on this website, and how you can manage them.

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies bluearctech.com.au uses, what each one is for, and how you control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
We have written it to describe what this website actually does, rather than to list every kind of cookie a website could theoretically use.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so that it can recognise your browser later. Related technologies do a similar job by other means, including local storage, which keeps a small amount of information in your browser without sending it back to the website on every request.
2. What runs before you choose anything
Two things, and we would rather set them out than let you find them.
A security check. Our website sits behind Cloudflare, which protects it from automated abuse. If Cloudflare decides a visitor's browser needs checking, it sets a cookie called cf_clearance so that the same browser is not challenged repeatedly. This is a security measure, not tracking. We cannot switch it off without switching off the protection itself, and it may be set on your very first visit.
A basic page count. Cloudflare also runs a lightweight analytics beacon on every page. It counts page views and general things like which pages are popular. It sets no cookies, it does not identify you, it does not follow you to other websites, and it does not build a profile of you. It runs whether or not you accept analytics, because it is part of the platform the site runs on rather than something we load.
Nothing else runs until you say so.

The two BlueArc cookies are strictly necessary for signing in. Without them you would be signed out on every page. Both are set so that scripts running in your browser cannot read them, both are cryptographically signed so they cannot be tampered with, and neither is used to track you or shared with anyone.
4. Analytics, only if you accept
If you accept analytics when we ask, we load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to measure how the website is used. Those cookies are set and controlled by Google, and Google may process that information outside Australia.
Before you make a choice, analytics, advertising and personalisation signals are all explicitly switched off. If you accept, only analytics is switched on. Advertising and personalisation stay off whatever you choose.
This is separate from the Cloudflare page count described in section 2, which is cookieless and runs either way.
5. What we do not use
We want to be specific here, because most cookie policies list these whether they apply or not.
- No advertising cookies. We do not advertise to you, we do not build advertising audiences, and no advertising script loads on this website.
- No social media plugins or trackers.
- No session replay or heatmap tools. Nothing records your mouse movements, your clicks or your screen.
- No cross site tracking. We do not follow you to other websites and nobody else follows you here on our behalf.
6. Your consent choice
Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so it stays on your device and is never sent to us.
To change or withdraw it, use the choose again link and the same two options reappear. The choice you make replaces the old one, whichever way you are switching, and it takes effect straight away: accepting switches analytics on from that moment, and withdrawing switches analytics storage off and removes Google's analytics cookies from your browser. If the analytics script had already loaded, it is discarded when you leave the page.
Clearing the site data for bluearctech.com.au in your browser settings also resets your choice, and you will be asked again on your next visit.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, restrict them to particular sites, or block third party cookies. Those settings are in your browser rather than on our website. Blocking the two BlueArc cookies in section 3 will stop you being able to sign in, and blocking the Cloudflare security cookie may mean you are challenged repeatedly.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top tells you when it was last reviewed.
